by Fritz Encke
The purpose of this book is to show the variety of what one can pull in a greenhouse. In doing so, the work has been stretched wide, because practically the work treats everything that is cultivated on beautiful and interesting tropical and subtropical plants today and is worth to be drawn outside the public botanical collections of plant lovers in the small greenhouse. In addition to the cold and warm house plants in the traditional sense, in which the number of genera and species has increased further, the large groups of orchids, cacti and midday flower plants have now been recorded in addition to the insectivores, as well as a chapter culture instructions. A total of about 150 families, 1150 genera and countless species and varieties are listed.
